A NOTE FROM ALI

Happy Summer everyone! The heat is on, and hopefully we will get some rain out of all this humidity!!! I am VERY excited about a new wine tasting format we have come up with for our regulars and everyone else who would like to come! Every fall, I am fortunate to be able to go to all the "Trade Tastings" that the large distributors in town put on for the bar & restaurant owners to go to. At the tastings, we are able to taste 100’s of wines in an effort to find new and exciting things to add to our wine lists. I thought it was time to give everyone the same opportunity, and each month we will offer our 20 for $20 Tasting (sponsored by a different distributors). That way, each month, you can come and try wines that you might not have the opportunity to taste, from each distributors vast portfolio!

Once again, I would like to reiterate that it is a tough time right now for independent operators/owners in this economy. I know that everyone has choices of where to go to spend their hard-earned money. We truly appreciate when you choose to join us here at Uncorked!

We will be closed on Independence Day, Saturday, July 4th, so we can all enjoy the weekend with our friends and families! We hope that everyone has a fun & safe July 4th Weekend!

Many of you know that I am a HUGE animal lover, and when times are bad the shelter animals suffer and the shelters suffer because their donations are much less. I found a FREE way to help out!!!! You can click on the website, www.animalrescuesite.org and click to give FREE Food & Care to shelter animals!!!! It takes about 5 seconds and you don't have to enter your email!!! You can also go one step further and click on the purple Shelter Challenge tab on the right side to vote for your favorite shelter to win a $20,000 grant! I vote for the Arizona Animal Welfare League and Halo Rescue here in Phoenix all the time. This also takes only a few seconds and doesn't require you to enter any personal information--they only ask you to type what animal they have pictured to count your vote.
